The Sibona Grappa di Moscato is a grappa from the Antica Distilleria Sibona S.p.A., one of the oldest Italian grappa distilleries from the Piemonte region. This variant was made from the Moscato d’Asti from the regions Alba and Asti. It’s a 50cl bottle bottled at 42% ABV.
Sibona Distillery’s Madeira barrel-aged Reserve Grappa is a beautiful amber colour thanks to the time it spent in sweet Madeira barrels picking up not only colour but subtle flavour and texture complexity too. The nose shows spicy poached pear, lychee, candied orange peel, with a lovely Ambroisal fragrance.
This grappa is made from the Nebbiolo grape pomace, grape grown on farms in the region Barbaresco. Distillation of grape pomace is held on the same day, when the raw material is supplied to the plant Sibona, which allows to obtain the highest quality grappa with inherent Nebbiolo grape flavor
This special Grappa Riserva di barbera, already aged for a long period (about 2 years) in oak wood, is then aged for over 24 months in barrels purchased in Spain and previously used to elevate the “Sherry” of some of the most prestigious wineries.
On the nose, this Piedmontese grappa riserv delights with intense scents of malt and delicate roasted aromas, on the palate it is complex and rich in finesse, with a sustainable and long-lasting reverberation that is very reminiscent of Tennessee whiskey.
