William Grant & Sons has finished its best-selling blended whisky in ex-ale casks. These have added extra malty notes, and a hint of hops, to this floral and honeyed spirit.

Grants Master Blender, Brian Kinsman, wanted to see what would happen if they combined their traditional Scotch whisky blend with exotic flavours from the Caribbean. After many years ageing in oak barrels, the whisky is further matured in Caribbean rum casks for a smooth, rich and sweet taste.

Grant’s award winning flagship blend, first created in 1898 by William Grant and these days based around grain whisky from Grant’s own Girvan distillery.

Grant’s 12 Year Old Whisky – blended from whiskies that have matured for a minimum of 12 years. It is described as having a warm and fruity taste with a hint of spice. … Grant’s Blended Malt – created exclusively from Speyside-style single malts to produce a blend with a malty, fruity taste.
